Everyday Moments 3

 a few random things from today: - Brody has been watching YouTube videos about "how to whistle" for months now. Every day at lunch, he watches and practices and watches and practices. Brody really wants to wear a cowboy hat, cowboy boots, and whistle like a cowboy super loud. He practices all.the.time. and he's so super duper close to being able to do it! I'm SO proud of him! His level of diligence and perseverance is so impressive! I hope he can accomplish this and get his dream! - Randomly, during Math today, Walker turned toward me and said, "Momma, I feel like there's a big difference between ridin' and road trippin'." It caught me off guard b/c we were deep into word problems and digits and things, but then I said to him, "You're right! There is a big difference! Which do you like better?" Walker thought about it for a while, pondered, and then said, "Well.... ridin', you just look out the window. But... road trippin...

 So, I bought 2 bottles for soap dispensers for the kitchen, and 1 bottle is labeled "hands" and 1 bottle is labeled "dishes". They arrived yesterday, I filled them up with the appropriate soaps, and set them in place next to the kitchen sink last evening. Today, after church, Jasper comes into the kitchen, washes his hands, and then exclaims, "Mom!! I love the soap bottles you bought! Now I finally know which soap to use on my hands! Today is literally the first day that I have ever used soap when I washed my hands b/c I never knew which one to use before. But, now I know!!"..... crickets.....gulp......Andrew and I looked at each other...... and then I said, "buddy..... today is the first day that you've ever used soap while washing your hands?" to which Jasper replied, "YUP! But now I know! It's so great!" and with that he bounded out of the kitchen to check his fantasy football score, completely oblivious to the shock and hor...

 I love these brothers so so much! They are SUCH a gift to my heart!  A few examples... 1. the other day, I was in the kitchen cooking with Walker, and Brody came in and said, "hey Walker! Do you want to go to the basement with me?" and Walker sweetly inquired, "Why?" and Brody said, "Oh, you know! To talk and make plans and stuff." to which Walker enthusiastically replied, "Oh YES!!!!! I LOVE making plans with you!!!" and they both scampered off together before I could even blink. It was SO sweet!!! 2. right now, I'm sitting in the school room, working in lesson plans for tutoring tomorrow, and Brody and Walker are in the hallway right outside the school room, playing a huge make-believe game with Legos and Ninjago characters. They're doing voices and dramatization and plots and subplots, etc. 3. This morning, Brody chose to go cheer on Jasper at his cross country meet instead of staying with friends to do Community Games, Forum, and Spi...

 Jasper started his freshman year yesterday!!! How is he a freshman already?! Time flies so much! Anyway, Jasper is sitting here next to me on the couch, and I asked him what he always wants to remember about himself from when he was 14. Here is what J wants to remember: 1. He is very "rizzy" 2. He has great hair and has a low taper fade 3. He won the bench off at school and got 2nd place in the dead lift 4. He recently started cross country and he is improving his running already 5. He likes to hang out with Lincoln, Gaines, and Brady 6. He loves sushi, pizza, hamburgers, tacos, cheeseburgers, catfish, hushpuppies, fruit by the foot, ice cream, boboa tea, and every other type of food 7. He is really hoping to get a deer with his crossbow this season 8. Jasper got a ton of girls' numbers at Myrtle Beach 9. He loves football, especially OSU. Jasper also loves the Braves and Atlanta United

 Brody loves, loves, looooooves to build things!!! Oftentimes at naps or nighttime, we'll hear him pounding away downstairs with a hammer, with no idea of what he's building, but always very eager to find out! Yesterday, Brody came up with a snack catapult that he built for Charley, and this morning he came up with a homemade slingshot that he made. Way to go, Brody!! Please never stop building things!! Among many other things, Brody has built me bookshelves and an egg container for our farm-fresh eggs. I love his creations so much!!

      Someone grabbed my camera and took some selfies without me knowing. 🤣 Bwahahah!! Absolutely perfect!
